Just arrived!! There are a lot of 50cc size aerobatic models on the market these days, but none come close to the Black Horse Edge 540V3 for looks and performance.
This Edge 540V3 has been totally engineered with the discerning aerobatic modeller in mind. Every aspect of the CAD design has been though carefully through to give strength where it is needed and reduce weight where it is not. The removeable wings locate of two large, tubular, aluminium spars to provide both strength and security. Each wing panel has laser cut parts linked together with the spars and other structural components and then sheeted in balsa. Each aileron has twin servos and pushrods for real control power.
The fuselage has a lightweight, semi-moncoque rear structure where the formers are merely there to maintain the shape. Most of the strength comes from the balsa skin. The elevator servos (2) are mounted in the tail to use short pushrod linkages, but the rudder has a single sevo at the front operated by closed loop. All linkages, both in the fuselage and wing, are heavy duty.
The large, GRP cowling will 'swallow' most 50cc engines and the fuselage has been desigend to accept an internal inline silencer if required.
The undercarriage is a heavy duty, double-aluminium plate system, that provides both strength and shock absorbtion. Spats are of course GRP.
Transportation is easy, thanks to the removable wings and complete tail/fin. This makes this 50cc model a viable option for all club modellers with average cars.
