The Red Bull air race series concentrated the designs of many aerobatic aircraft into a combination of speed and agility. A few went that extra mile and added true beaurty as well. The Edge 540V3 is one such aircraft!
The Edge 540V3 is a design with many 'curves' in it and Black Horse are the masters of complex curves and wooden construction. The complex fuselage blends into both the racing canopy and cowling alike to limit drag as much as possible. The wing section has been chosen to give both high speed and high 'G' stability, making the Edge 540V3 a joy to fly without any nasty tendencies. Thos up-swept wing tips go a long way to reducing the tip stalling usually present in such aircraft, and to cap it all, they look sexy too!
The heavy duty aluminium undercarriage legs have fairings and GRP spats to add that final touch to the scale profile. Add a large GRP cowl and the quality is obvious from all angles.
