The Extra 300 32e ARF is the largest wing area single engine model E-flite has ever produced. With the combination of Mike McConville's design heritage, fully symmetrical section tail surfaces, plug in wings and larger size it delivers exceptional flight performance when coupled with the recommended motor and battery power system.
Designed by IMAC and XFC (Extreme Flight Championship) competitor Mike McConville, and constructed from laser cut balsa and plywood this lightweight and durable aircraft is capably of either extreme full house 3D flight or precision F.A.I aerobatic flight.
Covered in a striking red, white and blue colour scheme with silver trim the model also features a pre-painted fibreglass cowling and wheel spats, pre-painted aluminium landing gear and a large removable canopy hatch which gives easy access to the flight battery and radio bay.
The two-piece wing has full span ailerons for crisp and precise aerobatics and also makes for easy assembly and transport.
Motor mounting is similarly easy having an adjustable firewall mount designed to fit either the E-flite Power 25 or Power 32 outrunner motors, with all of the necessary hardware included in the inclusive hardware pack.
This great looking model can be flight ready in a few evenings and with guaranteed performance built in, scale looks and generous size the Extra 300 is a welcome addition to the E-flite range and well worth trying if you are looking for a larger scale electric model to take your flying to the next level.
Leading aerobatic pilot and aircraft designer Walter Extra developed the Extra 300 in 1987. The Extra's shape with its huge canopy made the 300 look special since it covered a two place cockpit and it would go on to epitomise the modern, sleek unlimited aerobatic monoplane. Based on the basic layout of the earlier Extra 230 the Extra 300 was fitted with a more powerful 300 horsepower 6 cylinder engine and a second seat making it the first unlimited aerobatic monoplane trainer.
The Extra's fuselage is a conventional welded steel tube framework covered primarily with fabric and aluminium. To keep overall weight down and to increase airframe strength much use is made of carbon fiber and the main wing panels have carbon skins and two composite spars. The horizontal and vertical stabilisers are also composite, and use a single carbon spar eliminating the need for flying wires.
The resulting lightweight airframe is capable of withstanding plus/minus10G and this remarkable aircraft really does set the standard for aerobatic monoplanes winning competition after competition!
