All the benefits of the magneto engine with the added advantage of electronic ignition. The 62 has a very short stroke, this has two advantages, first the motor is smaller and second the piston acceleration is not so high reducing vibration. A birds beak opening in the top side of the exhaust port serves to reduce noise by preventing the exhaust port suddenly opening reducing the sharp pressure wave fluctuations. The latest die casting technique are employed to produce very wide but very thin cooling fins and the flywheel is unbelievably small and with the very light electronic ignition system, the ZG 62 the lightest petrol engine in it's class. The crankshaft is forged steel, induction hardened, with a diameter of 15 mm and supported in two large ballraces, the conrod is also forged, induction hardened with caged roller bearings both ends. There are two thin pegged rings. The standard Walbro pump carburettor is fitted with a choke. This engine is supplied with silencer, however a switch and 4.8v nicad battery will be required for the ignition. We recommend a 2400mah nicad battery and heavy duty radio switch. Propeller recommendations; Aerobatic aircraft Menz S 22x10" or 22x12". Slower scale aircraft Menz S 24x10.
