The E-flite Opterra 1.2m is much more compact than the 2.0 meter version. In addition to the easier handling, we have also improved the aerodynamics of the size accordingly and revised the design and equipped with some great features.
No tools are needed to assemble / disassemble the three-piece hull. The servo plugs are also automatically plugged, as are the fins.
The enlarged elevon rudders provide improved roll rate and steering control, and the plastic cover on the fuselage provides protection during landings and provides a secure grip when starting.
The newly developed engine mount provides improved stability and strength and fits in well with the propulsion system that can be operated out of the box with 3 or 4S LiPo without altering the propeller. For an optional LED strip lighting system, depressions are already in the wings at the factory. The fuselage nose can be changed without tools against the supplied FPV nose.
The lightweight construction and high-efficiency aerodynamics allow the E-Flite Opterra 1.2m to cover a very wide range of sport flies to aerobatic and thermal sailing.
With the FPV option, you can put yourself in the pilot's seat while the GoPro Session, RunCam HD or a comparable camera system records the flight in HD quality. (FPV accessories and camera are sold separately)
Improved aerodynamics and lightweight construction
The main reason for the outstanding flight characteristics of the Opterra 1.2m is the aerodynamic design of the wing design. The winglets and Finns are supportive in different flight conditions. Vortex generators mounted on the leading edge and rudder edge effectively support low-speed flight characteristics and rudder control. The hull is made of carbon-reinforced foam and offers high stiffness and strength at the lowest weight.
Easy to assemble and transport
One of the best features of the Opterra 1.2 is its "Always a Model" feature. The pluggable wings are equipped with servo plug guides and can be mounted without tools. So the Opterra 1.2 is ready to fly in no time and hardly takes up any space during transport.
3S and 4S compatible Brushless Power System with folding propeller
The High Power propulsion system provides sufficient performance with 3S for sports and aerobatic flying, even when camera systems are installed on board. For even more power, a 4S battery can be used. If you want to fly in the thermals, the engine simply shuts off and the folding propeller tucks into the fuselage to optimize its flow.
Multiple camera and mounting options
The aerodynamically optimized nose features a second nose designed for FPV systems. Above the nose there is the possibility in the hull a GoPro Session, RunCam HD to assemble records the flight in HD quality.
